The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is committed to promoting integrity and rooting out corruption from the institution. In 2006, the Anti-Corruption Commission Integrity Committee (ACC IC) was established in line with section 6(1)(a)(iv) of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 3 of 2012. The ACC IC is charged with the responsibility of leading the prevention of corruption and maladministration or related malpractice in the ACC.

COMPOSITION AND STRUCTURE OF ACC IC

Integrity Committee members are appointed by the Director-General of the ACC
The Committee is composed of employees from a cross section of the Commission
It is centralised as it is housed at the Headquarters of the Commission

FUNCTIONS OF THE ACC IC

Facilitate carrying out of Corruption Risk Assessments in the Commission
Develop and implement an Annual Corruption Prevention Action Plan (ACPAP)
Receive and provide redress to complaints bordering on unethical conduct and maladministration involving ACC staff
Conduct awareness on integrity and ethical behaviour to employees and other stakeholders
Spearhead the development, implementation and the review of the institution’s Code of Ethics and Integrity related policies which include Gifts and Benefits, Whistleblower protection, Corruption and Bribery and many others
Promote transparency and reduce opportunities for corruption and related malpractices
Submit quarterly progress reports to the Director General on the activities of the Committee
